Fellow Kossack backs Wexler against Sun-Sentinel

Mon Jun 23, 2008 at 07:45:08 AM PDT

A fellow kossack, JWSwift, has gotten a LTE published by the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in response to their moronic call "Impeachment not worth another minute of anybody's time".

The opinion piece by the Sentinel calls for Wexler and Kucinich to drop their impeachment bid for "real issues"

Bill Clinton thinks it's over...

Mon Jun 02, 2008 at 02:11:19 PM PDT

From MSNBC's First Read:

From NBC/NJ's Matthew Berger
MILBANK, S.D. -- Bill Clinton acknowledged Monday that today may be his last campaigning for his wife.

"I want to say also, that this may be the last day I'm ever involved in a campaign of this kind," the former president said at a town hall at the Milbank Visitor Center.

[Update X2] Save the Pooties!

Fri Mar 14, 2008 at 07:22:24 AM PDT

And doggies too!

This is heartbreaking for me...

At about 3AM this morning a fire broke out at the Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary & Hospital in Jupiter Florida. Due to the heroic efforts of the Jupiter Police Department and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue 38 animals were saved. Tragically 14 pooties were not so lucky. As I type this, the rescued animals are in cages in the Safe Harbor parking lot with nowhere to go... You can help!

Our heads are NOT exploding.

Thu Nov 15, 2007 at 01:06:13 PM PDT

So the MSM conventional wisdom states that hiring Karl Rove to take on Markos in the pages of Newsweek will "make liberals heads explode", boy do they have allot to learn.

Ladies and gentlemen what we have here is a perfect example of why they don't get us... their conventional/political wisdom is and always has been dead wrong. This is a fight we welcome, I only wish this were a direct televised debate in prime time, but I'll take what I can get.

They don't understand us, and because of that, they fear us.

BREAKING: Justice in Jena!

Fri Sep 14, 2007 at 02:44:39 PM PDT

This from AP: Appeals court tosses out teen's conviction in Jena, La. beating case

The aggravated battery conviction that could send a black teenager from Jena to prison for 15 years in the beating of a white classmate has been overturned by a state appeal court. The state third circuit court of appeal says Mychal Bell should not have been tried as an adult on the battery charge.

Short, I know, but it is nice to see justice served every once in a while!

Pissed at Russ? Yell Louder...

Mon Jul 16, 2007 at 07:02:59 PM PDT

Ladies and gentlemen, we have been told. It was no accident that Sen. Feingold graced us with a diary today (I'll explain in a moment).

You see, we have been stirring up trouble in these parts. It should be obvious to everyone that the calls for impeachment, on this site, have grown steadily over the past few weeks with no signs of letting up. There are some here that were once against impeachment that are now squarely for it. We have begun to yell at them (Congresscritters), and they can hear us.

FL-22: Shaw (R) PERSONALLY SUPRESSES VOTE!

Tue Oct 31, 2006 at 08:16:19 PM PDT

Just watching WFLX Fox29 (West Palm Beach), apparently Clay Shaw just figured out that voting machines might have problems.

Tell me if this sounds Kosher to you...

2 voters report voting problems they had today to Congressman Clay Shaw's office. They claim that their votes switched to Shaw's Democratic opponent Ron Klein.

Now normaly I would have to side with the voter's concerns... but I question the credibility of these PARTICULAR voters. You see, a woman WHO WORKS FOR SHAW'S CAMPAIGN AND HER DAUGHTER were the only ones to complain!

FL-16: It's NOT a lock (New Poll)

Tue Oct 17, 2006 at 04:23:54 PM PDT

For those of you who believed (as I did), that the Dems would sweep FL-16 after Predatorgate broke... think again.

Now, this is not doom and gloom, clearly Tim Mahoney, the Democratic candidate for Florida's 16th Congressional District, got a huge bump in the polls since the Foley shit hit the fan. As this latest poll (South Florida Sun Sentinel) indicates Tim holds a 7 point lead over Foley's replacement Joe Negron.

Mahoney (D)- 48
Negron (R)- 41
Undecided - 11

[UPDATE] BREAKING AP:Hastert knew about Foley 3 YEARS AGO!

Wed Oct 04, 2006 at 01:34:10 PM PDT

Payback is a bitch!
Fordahm strikes back:

AP

A senior congressional aide said Wednesday he told House Speaker Dennis Hastert's office in 2004 about worrisome conduct by former Rep. Mark Foley with teenage pages - the earliest known alert to the GOP leadership.

Kirk Fordham told The Associated Press that when he was told about Foley's inappropriate behavior toward pages, he had "more than one conversation with senior staff at the highest level of the House of Representatives asking them to intervene."

I'm running out of popcorn!

[UPDATE] REAL Foley Bombshell: NO CONTACT FROM LAW ENFORCEMENT!

Tue Oct 03, 2006 at 03:29:53 PM PDT

Sorry about the short diary here, but I believe this deserves a diary of it's own.

According to his lawyer in a press confrence as of 5:45pm EST today:

1.Law enforcement HAS NOT contacted Foley or his lawyer.
2.Law enforcement HAS NOT seized his computers.

WTF?!?!?!?!?

I'm no cop, but I've seen enough Law and Order to know that in this type of situation the computers should be seized by law enforcement ASAP!

WOW, I'm stunned.

Update [2006-10-3 19:34:53 by weelzup]: I need your help! Can't find a transcript! Will post if one can be found.

Update [2006-10-3 19:51:39 by weelzup]: #2: A full video of the press conference is available here (large 24mb WMV file) Comment about contact with law enforcement at 6:51 into video.

FL-16: Foley Fallout (What the LOCAL voters are saying)

Mon Oct 02, 2006 at 11:25:31 AM PDT

First let me say that I live in Florida's 22nd Congressional District. For those of you who don't know FL-22 buts up aginst FL-16. Many of my friends, neighbors, family live in the 16th, and I am very familiar with it's politics. (Mark Foley lives about 3 miles from my house).

I like posting these anecdotal accounts of voter intent/feeling. They are very important, IMHO, in determining what the voters will do in Nov.

Today I came across a doozy of a story...

FL-16: Foley trolling for young boys?

Thu Sep 28, 2006 at 05:21:02 PM PDT

WOW! According to ABC News Republican congressman Mark Foley had a potentialy inappropriate email exchange with a 16 year old former Congressional page.

Wilma may ruin Fitzmas for some w/ Poll

Fri Oct 21, 2005 at 09:01:53 AM PDT

I'm depresed. I am waiting here impatiently for the BushCo. house of cards to come crumbling down when Patrick Fitzgerald hands out his indictments. I am as excited about the prospects as many of you are. I am constantly on DailKos, Raw Story etc... to find the next juicy bit of info. I've largly ignored the talking heads on cable news, knowing they can't tell me anything I haven't already read on the internets.
Then it dawned on me. As a resident of South East Florida, I will likely be smack dab in the middle of Hurricane Wilma on Tuesday. The thought of a hurricane is not what bothers me so much, but the thought of being without POWER, CABLE, OR AN INTERNET CONNECTION on Wednesday or Friday (days the grand jury meets) of next week makes me sick.
