H1B Visa Immigrants Take the Very Desirable Tech Jobs
Engineering enrollment is supposedly at an all time low and demand is at an all time high. They say that we need to import another million or so Engineers under the H1B program.
Funny I know a score of 40+ engineers that are out of work.
Fair Use Advise needed. SC Public TV Caves to Republican Pressure
Sat Nov 04, 2006 at 12:54:43 PM PDT
Under pressure from SC Congressman Bob Ingles (R),
Columbia SCETV Public TV News Director Tom Posey says political campigns may not use snippent of copyrighted material under "fair use", only "News Organizations' may use that exemption from the copyright law."
WTF?????? That is not what the law says.
Is this just a bully tactic, or do they know something I don't know?
I have not found a single decision in the case law to suggest that there has EVER been a ruling that political campigns may not avail themselves of exerpts under fair use, as long as they follow the fair use guidelines, (which we did) But then I have not read EVERYTHING.
What is it with the Tax Code?
Mon Sep 18, 2006 at 11:10:34 AM PDT
Congressional Candidate has ask what parts of the tax code drive jobs offshore.
At one time I was pretty up on this stuff, but life happened in spades, and I am undoubtedly behind the times.
I have been asked what parts of the tax code need to be changed in order to foster creation of American Jobs in America.
There are tons of analysis out there, mostly to do with favorable treatment of financial transactions vs. manufacturing and requiring taxes to be paid only on profits that are repatriated into the United States favoring moving jobs offshore, however by the time that I grocked the analysis well enough to have specifics it will be Christmas.
I'll researching as fast as I can, but I could use some help here. If anyone has made a study of specifics and can point me in the right direction, please comment!
BTW:
An economist from the U Chicago sent him something about a value added tax, which seems to me to be a non-sequitor.
