end of crimes (poem)

Thu Sep 15, 2005 at 10:30:35 AM PDT

end of crimes
______________

makes wanta watch, the SOB dig pit
latrine below water level, piss in it, sit, shit

fence off this burial, concertina, monkey on a chain
woefull, hand out, jaw jack, discount remains

demo firemen, one step behind, hands tied
prisoners and Ptomkin props, absent pictures, who lied?

after the burial, come dancing back, making sound
burning bush was an oil slick, phosphorescent corpse in the round

makes wanta watch, the SOB dig pit
latrine below water level, piss in it, sit, shit

bottoms up

bottoms up

Stalin sent Ivanov and Sergeev poking through the glass
trying to measure the hole expected
blast centers Hiroshima and Nagasaki

they brought back a charred hand
and melted stone

over near Iran in the country of graves
Bush and Cheney start spin
bend over boys we'll nuke you now
or hold you in a bend over prison
you shouldn't get MAD
we fear Mutually Assured Destruction

where's the poem in that, you say...

cell (poem)

Mon Jul 04, 2005 at 12:58:32 PM PDT

Cell

at the edge where the dogs hold
leashed against the bars, strain
by the membrane of sleeplessness
practice calesthentic curl-ups, void at last
shit first warm, then clammy
then cold as concrete floors

in my place the laughing devil
feints my privates, so called, I curl,
hold up a name of God, ward warden

led on a leash of lampcord, I testify
through the wires on my fingers
perform for master, tiny camera

my guide a burning bush, wick
of the righteous, stammers and stumbles
visited upon the depraved, plausible, denial

Vote with your feet

Vote with your feet

general complains because the young fodder father

won't sign on

with a perpetual contract, lie about

torture, flush the Koran, dance in Georgia while they die,

junkyard armor, pay the mercenary more,

kiss up kick down, plausible denial,

can't show a picture of a casket,

cover your ass chain of command

where incompetents are promoted

free speakers demoted

out on a partisan whim

out on a partisan limb

this is the America my dad died for WWII

destroyer asbestos seizing his lungs

denied by the so called veterans administration

cutting costs, cutting benefits, cutting promises of coverage for wives

What I want to know, general, is

why are you still sitting on your ass?

"Blowing the government to Hell" - students get it.

Tue Apr 26, 2005 at 02:31:07 AM PDT

Portland State University's student newspaper has an
essay about filibuster blowhards. Blowing the Government to Hell.
Ever since the Reagan era, the favored Republican bullying tactic has been to knock the entire government as far to the right as possible. When Democrats get in power, they spend all their time cleaning up the mess; and when power shifts again, back to the right we go.

The filibuster was instituted to protect against the tyranny of the majority. This country is not made up of only right-wing extremists, and it only seems fair that people who are not complete fascists should have a say in who gets these powerful positions.

Republicans don't like that. Controlling two of the three branches of government (plus most of the media that they use to brainwash people into electing Republicans into those two branches) is not enough for them. They are making a power grab for the judiciary, where they only hold a 7-2 majority in the Supreme Court.
