Just a heads up to the DKos crowd:

SAO PAULO, Brazil (CNN) -- Heavy black smoke poured into the air and bright orange flames lit the night sky in Sao Paulo after a passenger plane skidded across a road and crashed into a building Tuesday.

Explosions in Mozambique UPDATE: Armory on fire
Thu Mar 22, 2007 at 09:47:08 AM PDT
My father is working there. He had to rush off the phone. Heard many very large explosions. Doesn't know why. Could be weapons cache, industrial accident, or worse.
Nothing on the news wires yet.
I'll update when I know more.
UPDATE 1: The explosion appears to be in the national armory. See below for the report.
Quotes in History -- A Kos Community Project
Thu Dec 22, 2005 at 09:35:13 AM PDT
History repeats itself, or at least it rhymes.
I have an idea that I think would be of great use in pushing back against today's "strong executive" arguments, and place what is happening to our country in context:
Relevant quotes from history.
I'll explain, if you'll hold my hand and jump with me.
We've been slapped with a gauntlet...
Tue Jul 19, 2005 at 08:00:09 PM PDT
Kos's front page entry is right on target.
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2005/7/19/22458/3189
And after reading it, I went to peruse Eschaton, and found that Kos is a genius:
http://www.haloscan.com/comments.php?user=atrios&comment=112182733934265952#3003429
From Aaron brown's roundtable (sorry, no transcript yet), we've been challenged to do exactly what Kos said we should:
"Aaron Brown just bitch slapped some wingnut named Breitbart on the SCOTUS nomination. Aaron wanted to know what the panelists would like to know about the guy, and Breitbart said, "I'm want to know if the liberal blogs can handle two issues at the same time." Aaron was PISSED. "That had nothing to do with ideology and everything to do with politics. Hmmmm...interesting that that's what YOU want to know." Amy Goodman rocked as usual."
In other words, lets show them that the progressive voice of this country can, and will handle this well.
Put together dKos, Eschaton, TPM, and all the other great blogs out there, they have no chance.
Everyone, pick up a chair.
A hippy in Oklahoma summarizes recent history
Wed Jul 13, 2005 at 06:40:47 AM PDT
I know I'll get flamed for a short diary, but I came across this post/website in the comments in TPMCafe, and was impressed by the quality of the writing and the analysis.
This Hippy (sic) has put this administration path to scandal together very well. The dots are connected. It is a very Kossian job.

Dean just announced our new fighting theme, and you didn't notice
Thu Jun 30, 2005 at 09:18:42 AM PDT
On Chris Matthews' show, Dean was his usual great self. I didn't watch it, but I read the transcript here:

Here is what I liked the most (there were many good parts), and what I think should be the center of the Democrats' campaigns in the coming elections (in extended entry):
I'm worried about EVMs
Mon Nov 01, 2004 at 10:03:42 AM PDT
Am I the only one worried that the new Electronic Voting Machies will be tampered by Rove to give Bush the election, and there will be nothing the courts can do to stop them?
Rove was quoted as saying that "the polls are wrong, we will win Ohio and Florida".
I'm sure that if they can change the votes, they will. Why isn't the EVM issue at the forefront of our efforts?
"Where Evil Meets Stupid"

I found this over at Pandagon (www.pandagon.net). Made me laugh out loud at the lame, played out dirty tricks of the GOP:
[quote]
The trick with Republican staffers running dirty tricks, we discovered, is to turn cameras on them. They wilt like shrinking violets. Stephen Elliott and I are out here with a documentary crew, and when the film started rolling, the GOP's bogus Gay Pride parade came to a quick end.
