Impeachment Sunday: Orange County, CA
Mon Jan 09, 2006 at 06:10:34 AM PDT

After hitting San Diego hard, The Freeway Blogger headed north for some serious Impeach blogging in Orange County, CA, a Republican stronghold directly southeast of Los Angeles. Click here for five high-resolution photos of the damage.
When you look at those photos, know that they represent freeway blogging at its best. While images such as this San Francisco photo are inspiring, they don't usually have the impact of visually less impressive postings, which aren't as much a target for removal.

San Diego has just been hit hard by The Freeway Blogger. This is the first major California city to be hit in the Jan 8 - 9 Impeach Campaign. The Freeway Blogger is currently heading up the California coast, deploying upwards of 40 IMPEACH freeway blog posts.

There's a reason
The Freeway Blogger christened this activity freeway
blogging. Like Internet blog posts, freeway blog posts don't last long -- it's all about
placement. Just as a front page post on
Daily Kos scrolls away quickly but captures a huge number of eyeballs in its short life,
The Freeway Blogger is the
Markos Moulitsas Zuniga of freeway blogging.
To see how the numbers work, scroll past the seven photos of California freeway blogs at the second bullet (IMPACT....) in the first scroll box below.

As I was composing the email below to the
15 USA regional freeway blogging groups, it occurred to me that a revised and improved draft might form a section for a future diary on the subject of linking online to local activism.
I am too involved in THE IMPEACH PROJECT to devote time to that project right now. But please post any thoughts that occur to you from reading the email; I will incorporate feedback into the later diary.
Should you find you have more thoughts than seem appropriate for a comment, you could use whatever you like from this diary for your own.
