What's our Next Move?

Tonight's victory by William "dollar Bill" Jefferson creates a quandary for the new Democratic Congress.
This is an opportunity for us to prove that our goal of cleaning house in the federal government is not ideologically driven.
I hope Nancy Pelosi and the new Chairman of the House Ethics Commission initiates investigations of Jefferson as one of their first actions come Jan 3rd.
This action will achieve two major goals. It will show the American people that Democrats are not about to follow the Republicans example of ignoring ethics questions and it will also show that our use of the oversight responsibilities will not be based on Party over Country, but Country first.
This act will go a long way toward cementing public support for later investigations.
The Nov 7th election's exit polls showed that the people of this country are just as concerned about the ethics of those who work for them in Washington as they are of the clusterfuck in Iraq.
Nancy, please prove to us that ethics will matter to the 110th Congress, investigate William Jefferson as well as the Republican leadership.
