shocked I am. Big Bizz supports Roberts

Wed Aug 10, 2005 at 11:59:02 AM PDT

Picked this up over at redstate (no link, find it yourself).

Wingnuts are outraged that:

" The National Association of Manufacturers held a press conference at 10am this morning to announce the results of their Judicial Review Committee. (no, I haven't heard yet) The interesting thing is that apparently, some folks in the press aren't actually interested in waiting for the facts. "

more below.

They go on, quoting the NAM website

"However, some -- like David Kirkpatrick of the New York Times and Jeff Birnbaum of the Washington Post -- say they will run a story, guessing about our eventual outcome, in the absence of any confirmation from us. That doesn't seem right, does it? Journalists ought not be in the business of guessing, should they....? Whatever happened to independent factual verification? Maybe the line between blogging and reporting is really getting fuzzy after all. We hope they're just bluffing."

Yeah, I'm sure we could guess what the NAM opinion of Bush's SCOTUS pick would be.

Lemme guess....hmmmm.....maybe they support him?

Here's the big shocker press release folks:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE                PAT CLEARY (202) 637-3124

NAM ENDORSES BUSH SUPREME COURT NOMINEE

Action Is First of Its Kind For Manufacturers' Group

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 10, 2005 - The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), the nation's largest industrial trade association, today endorsed the nomination of Judge John G. Roberts to fill the seat on the Supreme Court vacated by the resignation of Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

"This is the first time in our 110-year history that the NAM has taken a position on a Supreme Court nomination," said NAM President John Engler. "Judge Roberts's record is one that fully qualifies him as a Justice who will interpret the law as written, not an activist who will legislate from the bench.  Business depends on a legal system that is fair and predictable."

OK, y'all can get off the edge of yer seat now.  That cliffhanger's been decided.  Bet it was a real brawl in that conference room.
